- Description:
- Letrônica magazine was created in 2008 by the then PPGL / PUCRS coordinator, Ana Maria Lisboa de Mello, with the support of doctoral students who acted as junior editors. In principle, the publication aimed to create a space for the dissemination of the master's and doctoral students works of the Program. The name Letrônica (“Letras” + “electronics”), chosen by the students, came at a time when the online publication of academic journals was not yet a requirement. In order to qualify the production of the Program and stimulate the publication of graduate students in journals of other institutions, the magazine, in the following years, underwent a constant updating process. In 2012 the teachers of Maria da Glória di Fanti, from the Linguistics area, and Biagio d'Angelo, from the Literature area, took over the Letrônica publishing house. At this time, the objectives are changed, and the magazine encourages the publication of researchers from different regions of Brazil and abroad. In the first CAPES evaluation, still in 2012, Letrônica was evaluated with Qualis B2. Maintaining the quality already achieved and always seeking a better adaptation to the requirements of the Brazilian and international academic scenario, both the editorial board and the publication norms were revised. In a new Capes evaluation (2013-2014), it achieved Qualis B1. In 2014, assumed the editor of the area of Literature Professor Pedro Theobald. In a constant search for the improvement of the journal, in 2018, due to Scielo's requirements and with the support of EDIPUCRS, the magazine started to have quarterly periodicity, being published two thematic issues of each major area: Linguistics and Literature.
